This morning, the BBC’s website is reporting that Zimbabwe’s elected party (MDC) and R. Mugabe’s own Zanu-PF are to sign a deal outlining a framework to talk to each other. This doesn’t resolve much other than bridging the huge gulf that prevented each side from actually, you know, talking to other. Actually, that’s a pretty big step.
As a pre-condition, and there are always pre-conditions, Bobby M. is adamant that the MDC recognize him as Zimbabwe’s president, but the MDC is all “Oh hellz nah!”
